Bible information game
A favorite way to review children on Bible facts is to play tic-tac-toe. You can make a game board out of anything, but a large poster board works well. Draw the tic-tac-toe lines as usual, making nine squares. Then make five X’s and five O’s out of construction paper. (Please let children help if they are old enough!) Write your study questions each day according to what you want to review.

Example: What is sin?
Answer: Anything you think, say, or do that goes against what God teaches in the Bible.

After a child answers correctly, he or she is allowed to take a turn on the tic-tac-toe board. If you have several children, let them play as teams.

Memorizing Bible verses, books, divisions, people, places, or events in order Take sentence strips and write the verse, divisions, etc. on them. Cut the words apart and shuffle them. Then allow the children to put the words in order. Variation: Write the words on a small strip of paper, cut words apart, and wad up the pieces. Put them in a recycled (empty) prescription pill bottle or other jar with a top, and put the lid on. Give children bottles and let them work their own puzzles.

Hacky Sack Toss Take a ball or hacky sack and stand in a circle. Let the children throw the ball to each other. Each person says one word of the Bible verse, division, character list, etc. If someone does not say the next word in the verse, division, etc., then that person has to start the verbal part of the game at the beginning, with the first word. Continue to play until the children have completed the verse or list without a miss.

New Christian Definition Matching Game materials: poster board, markers, yarn, Velcro® To make this game, write important terms (listed below) in a column on the left side of the board; to the right, make a column with the definitions but mix up the order. Staple or glue a string of yarn next to each word, and then affix a piece of the stiff side of Velcro® next to each definition. Let children divide into teams and take turns connecting a word to the right definition with the yarn. Give each team a point when they get a word right.

Definitions sin: anything we do, say, or think that goes against what God teaches us in the Bible salvation: God’s forgiving a person’s sin when he or she believes in Jesus Savior: Jesus, who died for our sins and rose from the dead baptism: when a Christian is dipped under water to show to others that he has been saved. It also tells the story of Jesus. Lord’s Supper or Communion: when Christians eat bread and drink grape juice or wine to remember that Jesus gave his body and blood so that they could be forgiven of their sins repent: to change your mind about sin, to turn away from sin and turn to God quiet time: a regular time when a Christian reads his or her Bible and prays child of God: what a person becomes after he or she believes in Jesus and repents of his or her sins spiritual death: what happens to people who do not believe in Jesus and repent of their sins Lamb of God: another name for Jesus that points to the fact that he is the sacrifice for our sins Messiah: a name for Jesus, the one the Jews had been waiting for to be their king born again: being born spiritually when you believe in Jesus and repent of your sin eternal: lasting forever Perish: be destroyed, die physically Righteous: good gospel: truth church family: Christian people that you go to church with family of God: all Christians in the world grace: something that we do not deserve
